Class Visits

Classes normally visit the library each week during their scheduled library time to do research, schoolwork, and return and borrow books from our collection.

Lunchtime

The library is open at lunchtime from 1.10 - 1.45 pm.

Borrowing From the Library

Students may borrow three books for up to 3 weeks. If you need a book longer than 3 weeks, it can be renewed (as long as no one else has reserved the book). Magazines (excluding the latest issue) can be borrowed for one week.

Reserves

You can reserve a book if it is currently issued to another person, or if it is on display, just ask at the issues desk. When the book becomes available, it will be held for you behind the issues desk. Make sure to ask if you have any reserves waiting for you when your class visits the library, or when you come in at lunchtime. Books will be held for one week only.

Overdue Books

Your teacher will be sent a list of students with overdue books at the start of the week. You will not be able to issue any more books until all overdue books have been returned. If a book is more than 6 weeks overdue the replacement cost of the book will be added to your school account for payment. When the books have been returned or the invoice paid, you will be able to borrow from the library again.

Chrome Books/iPads

These are available during class visits and at lunchtime for use in library. They are to be used for school work only– no gaming, music videos, or using the camera (unless you have permission from your teacher).

New Books

New books are added to the library throughout the year. If you have a book suggestion, please tell put a note in the suggestion box on the issues desk or fill in the online suggestion form
